Instagram rolled out a huge new update that is likely to change the way that everyone uses the image sharing app "by accident", according to company bosses.
Rather than the normal scrolling method that everyone has become accustomed to, the app appeared to function in the same way that stories do, with users tapping to see the next post.
But shortly after the change was made, the app reverted back to normal. Instagram head honcho Adam Mosseri wrote on Twitter: "Sorry about that, this was suppose to be a very small test but we went broader than we anticipated."
A message had been reportedly popping up on the app about the forthcoming changes and initial reactions have not been greeted with a huge amount of enthusiasm.
As always, there were plenty of jokes.
Many people believe that it will lead to an increase in adverts on the app.
For some, it really is the worst way to end the year.
Spare a thought for the person who designed this overhaul.
At least one person liked it.
However, it appears that not everyone has had their account changed yet, while some have seen their accounts changed back to normal. At this point, we have no idea what is going on at all.
