If you're looking to make some big lifestyle changes, the internet really can help make your dreams come true.

In a recent interview with Business Insider entrepreneur Johnny FD said that only six years ago, he was living in Los Angeles earning around £32,000 a year in his sales job.

The highlight of my day was driving to and from work, just because those were the moments I had an excuse to listen to music and not think about how little my life was going anywhere... It wasn't even that I was unhappy. I was just so unmotivated.

When the then-27-year-old Johnny was given the chance to take a severance package, he did, and finally fulfilled his dream of visiting Thailand.

But just visiting wasn't enough - Johnny wanted to stay, and he wanted to be able to afford to enjoy his new-found paradise.

After oddjobbing as a diving instructor and a Muay Thai fighter, he hit upon the idea of turning his travel blog into an ebook. '12 Weeks in Thailand: The Good Life on the Cheap' made almost £400 in the space of a month.

More experiments with internet marketing led him to discover drop shipping, a business model where your company serves as a go-between between local consumers and the products they want to buy online, which ended up growing into a big source of income.

Today Johnny tells Business Insider he earns around £26,000 a month when the business is in full swing, and on average around £6,500 from the drop shipping, which he works on only about half the time, and some revenue from his ebooks and blog.

The rest of the time he gets to live the dream with his girlfriend Larissa.
