If you played Pokémon Red, Blue or Yellow that'll sound familiar as the introduction to name your character.

Now people in the US, thanks to the success of the Pokémon Go craze, have been increasingly naming their children after Pokémon.

Yes, more people are naming their children after fictional fighting video game monsters.

Today reports that the following names have been on the rise for girls:

While for boys, the popularity of the series' main character has seen an upturn.

This comes from the blog BabyCenter, who report that 50 per cent of mums visiting their site say they are playing Pokémon Go.

Sadly, new parents still do not have the ability to name their children's friends after obscenities.
