Diamond and Silk wonder how Beto O'Rourke can oppose border wall while living in 'house supported by walls'

Democrat Beto O'Rourke, who shot to fame last year in an ultimately unsuccessful midterm election against Ted Cruz in Texas, is back out on the campaign trail.

The 46-year-old is believed to be contemplating a bid to be a 2020 Democratic presidential nominee and one of his biggest calling cards will be to oppose Trump's border wall.

Speaking to MSNBCin a spot overlooking Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, a city that is separated from the United States by a fence, O'Rourke was asked about the wall and said in response:

Yes, absolutely. I'd take the wall down.

We do this, whether it is the war on terror, the war on drugs -- we project our fears and anxieties to places like El Paso, to the US-Mexico border, and punish the people who live here.

There's no reason to do that. But it is the fear and the anxiety that is stoked by people who should and frankly do know better that results in these policies

He added the extreme security measures like this do not make the world a safer place but things can improve they "start treating people with dignity and respect - not militarizing communities, not adding even more to the $20 billion a year that we're spending on border security."

O'Rourke's words are bound to have resonance with those who are against Trump and his hardline security policies but it has predictably had the opposite effect on supporters of the president.

Diamond and Silk are conservative commentators, video bloggers and regular contributors for Fox News. On Friday they appeared on the network and lambasted O'Rourke message but did so in a rather odd way.

By their logic, someone who is opposed to a border wall shouldn't live in a house because that also has walls. Yes, that's really what they said.

Beto needs to stop acting like his brain is made of clay and use common sense when it comes to border security.

He talks about 'tearing down walls' yet he lives in a house supported by walls.

This was shared on Twitter on Friday afternoon by Bobby Lewis, who regularly shares videos of unexplainable things that are said on Fox News.

Reaction to the video was one of complete bafflement as people couldn't quite believe that they had heard such an illogical statement.

People were worried if Beto would ever be able to come back from such a sick burn?

What about other things that people are against but are a fundamental part of everyday life?
