James McAvoy’s innuendo-filled Bake Off appearance sets hearts racing

Celebrity Bake Off viewers were left hot under the collar after actor James McAvoy served up a steamy display.

The 41-year-old set hearts aflutter as he was crowned Tuesday night’s star baker thanks to his “stiff peaks”.

The Atonement star beat sports icon Dame Kelly Holmes, comedian David Baddiel and singer Anne-Marie, to the top accolade of the Channel 4 baking competition, which is being held to raise funds for the charity Stand Up To Cancer.

McAvoy’s winning creation was a cake in the shape of a snow leopard which, as His Dark Materials fans will know, was a nod to his character’s daemon Stelmaria.

Yet, it was his innuendo-filled chat – not his scones and sweets – that drove fans wild.

Testing the batter for his cheese scones during the technical challenge, he observed euphemistically “it feels a bit wet”.

Then, later, when later making a raspberry and lemon meringue pie, he declared proudly “my peaks are stiff”.

When looking at his snow leopard, he said: “I love you pussycat.”

One person tweeted: “I’m just catching up on tonight’s @SU2CUK#GBBO. Is it always dangerously erotic or is it only when James McEvoy discusses his stiff peaks?”

Another said:  “Now all I can think about is James McAvoy’s stiff peaks Eyes #GBBO”

While a third admitted: “I keep trying to see if he has a wedding ring on as if I actually have a chance.”

Comedian Alexandra Haddow commented: “James McAvoy licking his finger on Bake Off after I’ve been cooped up inside for a year should be illegal.”

Another Twitter user suggested optimistically: “My feed is currently full of lust for James McAvoy on Bake Off. This might be what finally unites us as a people.”
