TikTok user put on suit and ‘fired’ Walmart workers as prank—and people were furious

A man on TikTok, who wore a suit jacket and smart slacks, walked up to workers in Walmart and “fired” them for a prank—and people are displeased.

The video, posted on the @kingzehn TikTok account, showed the prankster dressed up in semi-formal attire pretending to be Walmart’s corporate manager.

“We’re going to have to let you go,” the prankster said in the video, as an unidentified employee was stocking items to put on the shelves.

“Do you mind if I check with my team lead? This is kind of random having a guy come up saying that I’m let go,” the employee responded.

Afterwards, the video jump cuts to the same prank being conducted on two more employees, who were ultimately notified that it was, in fact, a trick.

“My heart just dropped—oh my god,” one of the employees said, in relief that it was a joke all along.

Although this was supposed to be a joke, there are some pranks that go too far or cross a line, and many viewers felt like this was one such example.

“This isn’t a funny prank. Messing with people’s emotions and anxiety in a serious way like this shouldn’t be taken seriously,” someone wrote.

“This isn’t funny at all. Let’s go pick on the low-wage workers and tell them they’re fired the saint a good joke,” another added.

Someone else thought the employees should be paid for their grievances and wrote, “Unless you give them $100 after this is not funny.”

The @kingzehn page has conducted other pranks that poke at people in the workforce, such as trying to return a container of gasoline to a petrol station or pretending to not recognise himself in photos he had developed at a drugstore photo station.

Besides, many of these pranks emulate some of the usual antics that make participants laugh it off when all is said and done.
