Trump retweets post calling for his coronavirus expert Dr Anthony Fauci to be fired

President Trump is known for his ridiculous tweets.

But in news that seems bizarre even for him, Trump has retweeted a post that called for the ousting of his health adviser Dr Anthony Fauci after the disease specialist appeared on CNN (a network Trump famously dislikes).

The tweet from DeAnna Lorraine, a former GOP candidate for Congress, included the hashtag #FireFauci and referred to Fauci’s concession that more lives could have been saved if the US had acted sooner to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Because nothing says Easter Sunday like calling for your own advisers to be fired, right?

Earlier that day, Fauci appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” and he acknowledged the country “could’ve saved lives” if we had started mitigation efforts earlier. He told host Jake Tapper:

You know, Jake, as I have said many times, we look at it from a pure health standpoint.

We make a recommendation. Often, the recommendation is taken. Sometimes it’s not. But we — it is what it is. We are where we are right now.

Given Trump's lack of ability to take any form of criticism, which has been particularly clear during the coronavirus crisis, we don't know if we see him using Fauci's services as an adviser for much longer...
