Booking a holiday online is a minefield of staged photos, forced perspective and fisheye lenses.

Thankfully, with the advent of the internet, we can now find more realistic portrayals of hotels that have been somewhat madeover online, by people who have actually been there.

Oyster.com and sites like it exist for exactly this reason - to let you know what you'll be actually getting.

Their 'fakeouts' photo series does exactly this, naming and shaming the worst incidences they see of misleading advertising.
