The Monster Raving Loony Party is fielding the most apt candidate in the Oldham by-election

The candidates to run for MP in the Oldham West and Royton by-election were released on Monday 9 November by Oldham council.

If you look very closely, you might notice something about the Monster Raving Loony candidate.

The candidates contest for the former seat of Michael Meacher, MP for the constituency since 1970, who died in hospital after a short illness on 20 October.

The former Labour environment minister retained the seat with a 14,738 majority in May.
