Malia Obama reportedly has a new boyfriend and he couldn't be less American if he tried.

Rory Farquharson was a head boy at the prestigious - and expensive - English public school, has Royal links and that's not even mentioning his undoubtedly posh-sounding name.

Rory is a British import to Harvard University, starting his studies there last year after finishing his A Levels and spending summer as an intern with the Centre for Democracy and Peace Building in Northern Ireland.

Malia was linked to Rory after footage emerged showing showing her smiling and putting her arms around him at a Harvard-Yale football game.

TheDaily Mailclaim that Farquharson's second cousin, Andrew Farquharson, was the Queen's Assistant Master of the Household at Buckingham Palace - and allegedly one of the queen's most trusted aides.

In 2006, Andrew Farquharson switched his role with the Queen to support Prince Charles as his Deputy Master of the Household at Clarence House.

Now, Andrew is head of household at Alnwick Castle, Northumberland.

Judging by a Telegraph report, Rory appears to have a humorous, self-deprecating streak.

In a letter to his 16-year-old self, published in his school's Meteor Magazine, he reportedly wrote:

To tell the truth you’re a lanky, over-confident public school boy, desperately trying to prove to your friends how much of a ‘lad’ you are and you have failed miserably.

And for goodness’ sake get a haircut. Despite what you think, your floppy mop isn’t attracting the girls.

Last year, Barack Obama revealed both his daughters - Malia and her younger sister Sasha - had started dating.

But he joked he was "pretty relaxed" about the situation due to Secret Service protection.

They've had Secret Service. There's only so much these guys can do.
