McDonald's drive-thru is an American tradition that has become increasingly common in the UK.

The curious thing about it is that you get your hot takeaway meal and then drive it home.

Unless you have some thermal kit with you in your car, there's likely no solution to the fact it will be lukewarm by the time it gets home.

One genius has come up with an energy-burning solution to this problem, which he shared on Twitter.

He captioned his tweet:

I hope every person who ever thought I would fail sees this.

He's gathered nearly 15,000 retweets and 50,000 likes because of his quick fix, which is to turn on the seat heater.

People love the innovation.

But let's face it, it's only a solution for a very small problem affecting a very small subset of the population.

Think of all the petrol you're burning and the battery you're wasting to get a drive-thru burger home warm!

Homemade burgers are tastier and probably healthier anyway. Just saying.
