Let's be honest; you really enjoyed your Christmas break didn't you?

That entire week off (or more if you were really lucky) surrounded by food, friends, and family probably did you the world of good and you would happily do it all again next week.

Of course, you can't do that - but believe it or not, there is a way to get 24 days off work this year while only using 14 days of your holiday allowance.

This simple hack comes courtesy of the BBCand can only be applied in the month of May and only in 2018, so don't think about trying this in 2019.

This year's Early May or May Day bank holiday falls on 7 May. Then, just three weeks later you have the Spring bank holiday on 28 May.

To get the most out of these two bonus days off you'll need to save up that holiday time and book 14 days off work between 8 May and 25 May.

By doing this not only would you get 14 days off, but you would also be treated to the two bank holidays and the subsequent weekends that fall between those dates.

Now using up two whole weeks of your leave in one swoop might be a bit risky but if you can sort it, that's basically a full month off work.

Over the past two years, the May bank holidays have been four weeks apart which means that you would have to use 19 days leave, resulting in 31 days off work, which might be a bit much.

Should you try to give this a go we cannot be held responsible for the state of your email inbox on 29 May.
