QAnon conspiracy theorists have found the strangest reason to question Oprah Winfrey’s explosive interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this week.
While many debated the truth behind Harry and Meghan’s shocking allegations about the Royal Family, members of the pro-Trump, far-right movement were focused on a different issue - whether or not the Oprah we saw in the interview was a CGI creation…
For the uninitiated, Oprah has previously been targeted by far-right conspiracy theorists over baseless claims that she is part of a global child sex trafficking ring, along with prominent Democrats and other celebrities such as Tom Hanks.
In fact, the TV host even addressed those false claims last year when a post about them went viral on social media.

The interview with Harry and Meghan presented a problem for believers in the conspiracy theory - how could Oprah be talking to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex if she was supposed to be ‘under arrest for sex trafficking?’ (this obviously isn’t true).
Two rival theories have emerged: 1) that Oprah was wearing an ankle-monitor, meaning she was still under arrest, and 2) that the whole interview was CGI…

It’s worth nothing though that the CGI idea is controversial within QAnon because some members (seemingly without irony…) are annoyed that people are sharing wild theories without evidence.
“It’s irresponsible and people should be wary of those who make these claims without proof,” one member said, according to political analyst Arieh Kovler.

Like all QAnon theories, it goes without saying that we have no reason to believe any of this is true...
It’s also not the first time parts of the movement have resorted to claiming CGI in order to explain away information that contradicts their beliefs - as some members have suggested that Joe Biden himself is CGI following his inauguration as US president in January.
