The only difference between these two photos is five minutes

Meet Sophie Kay.

The 27-year-old London based personal trainer and fitness blogger was sick of "misconceptions" about her industry - so she set out to tackle them on her blog.

Kay's most important point? Selfies don't always show the truth - and nor do before and after photos.

The above photos were taken minutes apart. All she did in the three minutes between them was "turn off the overhead light, put on underwear that fit better, twist my body slightly to the side to show off my best angle, flex and, of course, add a [Instagram] filter."

Speaking to i100.co.uk Kay said that the worst thing about being in the fitness world was the unrealistic body images.

What bugs me the most: girls and young women seeing fitness models and 'instababes' and fixing that in their heads as their body goals without taking into account their genetics, lifestyles and body types. My ethos is helping people to be the best that they can be, not the best that someone else can be.

As she says on her blog, all that a six-pack means is that your body fat percentage is low enough for your abdominal muscles to show up.

Ladies, having such a low body fat percentage might stop your periods. Surely that can’t be good for you…
