Katy Perry pays sweet tribute to Orlando Bloom and praises him for ‘handling the insanity’ of her life

A-list couple Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom proved once again that they are the definition of relationship goals after the popstar paid tribute to her partner as she was honoured at a ceremony celebrating women in Hollywood.

During her award acceptance speech, the Teenage Dream singer thanked her other half for “handling the insanity” of her life.

Perry was among five other stars to receive an honour at Variety’s Power Of Women event. Other women who were honoured include West Side Story star Moreno, 89, poet Amanda Gorman, 23, singer-songwriter Lorde, 24, and TV executive Channing Dungey.

The gala was held in Los Angeles and attended by stars including Angelina Jolie, Hunter Schafer and Rita Moreno.

Perry was awarded for her ongoing work with her Firework Foundation, which uses the arts to help disadvantaged communities.

After accepting an honour from high-profile US TV journalist Gayle King, Perry also performed her aptly themed song What Makes A Woman.

The couple share one-year-old daughter Daisy Dove and the 36-year-old had nothing but praise during her speech for her British fiancé handling dad duties.

Perry thanked the Lord Of The Rings star for being “an incredible father, an example to our greatest gift ever, our daughter Daisy – a future powerful woman”.

She added: “I pledge to you to do my best to be an example of one, to never put limits on your dreams, to lead with love, never through fear, and to always be your lighthouse in any darkness.”

The Firework singer added how “behind every great woman, there is a great man”, and described Bloom as “a friend and an ally to women all around the world”.

She said: “Thank you for handling the insanity of my life.”

Katy and Orlando have been dating since 2016 and after a brief separation became engaged in 2019.

Fans were previously amused at how the couple was able to nail the banality of long term relationships after Bloom commented on one of Perry’s Instagram posts: “baby we’re out of oat milk.”
