We've all been using the pink woman emoji wrong

This is it, the straw that breaks the camel's back: yet another thing we have been doing completely wrong.

You're probably familiar with the emoji of a woman in a pink top.

She's the one we use when sassing someone on Twitter, bragging about a pay rise or when trying to justify the completely self-indulgent selfie you've just posted on Instagram.

We had our minds blown recently to find out that she's not actually supposed to be sassy at all - the official Unicode name for it is 'information desk person'.

And according to Mic, there might be another, entirely different meaning behind the well-loved emoji.

Toronto's Jessi Stern had the following brainwave on Wednesday night, which she posted to Facebook:

ALERT: Everyone I am a genius. It is 1:13 in the morning and I have to go to work tomorrow but I found out the meaning behind 💁. It is part 2 of 💇. Look, in the hair cutting one she has long hair that gets cut at her shoulders and then she’s showing it off!!!! There is meaning to everything in life. Thank you for your time. Carry on.

Basically, the emoji could be one half of a pair - the "before" emoji being the woman with scissors getting her hair did, and the "after" emoji being the one we've been misusing since its inception.

Is anything in this world certain anymore?
