The controversy surrounding Donald Trump Jr's email revelations seem to be never ending, and there could possibly be something even more suspicious afoot.
On Tuesday, the son of the US President tweeted an email chain that appeared to prove that he had talked with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, who has Kremlin connections
The emails suggested that she could provide incriminating information about Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election campaign.
Trump Jr only shared the emails once he was contacted by the New York Times in regards to the story, which the paper have since published a number of reports on.
Trump Jr has since gone on Fox News and denied that he or the lawyer had any direct contact prior to this meeting.
However, MSNBC host Christopher Hayes believes that everyone has overlooked an important piece of information that suggests otherwise.
Hayes alleged on his show, All In With Chris Hayes, that a phone call may have taken place between Trump Jr and Emin Agalarov, a Russian pop star and real estate developer.
Rob Goldstone who is a British entertainment publicist, emailed Trump Jr on 3 June 2016 to set-up a face-to-face meeting with Agalarov.
Below is a video of Hayes breakdown of the email conversation.
Here's a transcript:
Hi Don
Let me know when you are free to talk with Emin by phone about this Hillary info — you had mentioned early this week so wanted to try to schedule a time and day.
Later that afternoon at 3:03pm, Donald Jr replies: Rob could we speak now?
Half an hour later, at 3:37pm, Mr Goldstone replies:
Let me track him down in Moscow
What number he could call?
One minute later, Donald Jr replies: My cell
Five minutes later, at 3:43pm, Mr Goldstone confirms Mr Agalarov was on stage in Moscow but should be off within 20-minutes, so I am sure he can call.
The chain is quiet for nearly an hour when strangely enough, Donald Jr replies at 4:38: 'Rob thanks for the help'.
So what happened during that hour? It appears there was a phone call. Did the phone call between Don Jr and Emin take place?
That ‘thanks for the help’ an hour after setting up a call suggests it might have.
He then references another email that was sent the next day.
Don
Hope all is well
Emin asked that I schedule a meeting with you and the Russian government attorney who is flying over from Moscow for this Thursday.
I believe you are aware of the meeting — and so wondered if 3pm or later on Thursday works for you?
I assume it would be at your office.
Another line that Hayes refers to is "I believe you are aware of the meeting,” which would indicate that a previous conversation between the pair had taken place.
Hayes then later posts on Twitter that if the conversation did actually happen it would make Trump Jr's account of the meeting more dubious.
As of yet, there has been no indication that there will be an investigation into the emails.
