2016 has been an undeniably shocking year.
Bowie, Brexit...an old white billionaire elected as President of the United States.
And #MarmiteGate.
Some people are planning to emigrate or are Googling nuclear shelter. Others are hoping that the Earth is being rebooted. Most of us are just praying for this year to be over already.
But in the wasteland of 2016, out of the charred ashes emerged a beautiful dancing phoenix...
And his name is Ed Balls.
The MP and former Labour shadow chancellor has been competing on Strictly Come Dancing. Why? Because 2016.
He's been alternately captivating and nauseating the nation, but this week he earned himself a standing ovation.
His performance of the K-pop megahit, YouTube sensation and iconic dance move that is 'Gangnam Style' just cannot be unseen.
