Fox News guest pulled off air for showing picture of John McCain on 'off-chance the president's watching'

A guest on Fox News has taken shade to a new level by raising a photo of late senator John McCain to show president Donald Trump.

The incident, which lead an anchor of the right-wing network to call it "off the rails" and end the segment, occurred when radio host Chip Franklin held up a photo of McCain over most of his face.

Visibly bothered, the Fox host confronted Franklin, saying:

Chip, I'm trying to figure out why you're putting John McCain's face up.

Franklin replied:

In the off-chance the president's watching.

Real heroes out there, Pete Buttigieg, others that have served this country, just a thought.

After this, the segment was rushed to a close.

It’s no secret that there was no love lost between McCain and the president, who was banned from attending the former Arizona senator’s funeral after frequently calling into question the former military vet's status as a "war hero".

This isn’t the first time that McCain’s presence has been used to taunt Trump.

Following reports that Trump asked USS John McCain to be steered away from his ship in Japan (which the president denies), British organisation Led by Donkeys projected McCain’s hat on to a building during Trump’s visit to London.

Given that Trump is known to watch hours of Fox News a day, frequently tweeting facts and statistics from the network, there’s a high chance he’ll have seen the stunt.
