Melania Trump said she was looking at ways she could "positively impact children" and it went about as well as you might expect.
In what seems like a blunder of the highest order, First Lady Melania Trump tweeted out this:
A great visit with the King & Queen of Spain at the @WhiteHouse today. Queen Letizia & I enjoyed tea & time togeth… https://t.co/ulXTfTzlNY— Melania Trump 45 Archived (@Melania Trump 45 Archived) 1529452319
The tweet is directed towards helping children in a positive way, and if you think about it in terms of timing, you could say that this tweet is a little insensitive.
In case you're unaware, there is a massive migrant children crisis unfolding at the US-Mexico border right now.
On April 6 Attorney General Jeff Sessions implemented a so-called 'zero tolerance' policy for migrants caught crossing the border outside authorised entry points.
Families are having their children snatched from their arms and are being held in government facilities, some in what appear to be cages.

While the First Lady obviously isn't able to just change immigration policy, people have directed their rage towards her on Twitter:

Ever since the zero tolerance policy went into effect, a lot of references have been made to Nazi Germany, likening these detentions to concentration camps.
Despite the rising chorus of horror and protest, president Trump has defended his policy of separating families entering the US illegally.
US immigration officials say 2,342 children have been separated from 2,206 parents from 5 May to 9 June.
