Being single and searching for that special someone can be an exhausting and frustrating experience.

While some people love the chase and being on their own, others dream of nothing else than finding a partner. For these people, social gatherings can be a bit of a nightmare – just watch Bridget Jones to see for yourself.

Tired of being constantly asked why he hasn’t found “the one”, one Twitter user has officially snapped.

@jeauxsephjohn implored people to stop asking single people why they’re currently single. He said the comment “twists like a knife”.

The tweet struck a chord with Twitter users, receiving more than 100,000 likes in just a couple of days.

Thankfully, Joe says the response has been positive, giving him hope that it’s not his fault that he’s single. Though new research reported by indy100 reveals that it's actually better to be single, so perhaps this is a case of the grass being greener on the other side.

But whether this is the case or not, let's all agree to keep our noses out and stop shaming people for being on their own - it's 2018 after all.
