Terry Crews shares written apology from man who he claims sexually assaulted him

Terry Crews’s #MeToo story sent shock waves through Hollywood and across the world.

Crews’ accusation that he had been sexually assaulted by Adam Venit, a Hollywood agent, saw him making an emotional speech to the US Senate in which he explained his experience.

The actor said Venit squeezed his testicles while making tongue gestures at him.

Crews, who was mocked by rapper 50 Cent after he went public with the accusation, said:

I’ve never felt more emasculated, more objectified. I was horrified

Following the accusations, Venit sent Crews an apology letter, which he made public on Twitter. As Mashablereported, Venit was allowed to return to work following a brief suspension. After Crews expressed anger about this, he demanded that Venit be fired and not be rehired. Venit has since resigned.

In Venit’s apology, he wrote:

I know that you didn’t ask for any of this. Again, I take responsibility for us being here now, together in this situation.

I am sorry for all of it. … I have no right to expect your forgiveness, but I am asking for it nonetheless. I even hope that someday we can come together and go forward with compassion and understanding and be an amazing force for positivity and change in our culture.

It requires me taking responsibility and understanding my behaviour, and for us to start the forgiveness/healing process together.
