This paraplegic dog's story has a happy ending

Meet Leo, the paraplegic rescue dog.

Leo was found by Canadian traveller Meagan Penman five months ago on a Thai beach. He was unable to use his two back legs after an accident and while Penman tried to get him to a rescue centre in Thailand none had the resources to deal with his extreme case. Leo's owner, meanwhile, had done nothing.

Penman decided to raise money to get him to Canada so he could get extensive veterinary care, setting up a GoFundMe and Facebook Page.

Leo has now found a new home in Canada with foster owner Jamie Smith, who has set up a YouCaring page to help his recovery.

"I am by no means a professional dog rescuer but I could not have left him there so I did what I could to get him home. This truly was a group effort and I really appreciate all of the support," Penman wrote on her Help Save Leo Facebook page.
