BBC's Woman's Hour asked why feminists were conflicted about Margaret Thatcher and the responses were brutal

British politics is pretty polarising these days, but it’s easy to forget that divisiveness is certainly nothing new.

There’s no better example of this than Margaret Thatcher, who, despite no longer being alive, remains one of the most divisive figures in British politics.

BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour discovered this when they asked Twitter why so many feminists feel “conflicted” about the late former prime minister. After all, she was the first female PM, so why don’t more feminists celebrate her?

Though, far from “conflicted”, the responses actually seemed quite uniform - and not in a good way for fans of Mrs Thatcher.

It’s fair to say there were some very brutal replies.

Ouch.
