One thing seemingly lacking from the campaign trail this year is hope.

A poll of 1,000 adults last month revealed a majority of people now believe the future is bleak for the next generation.

As the above chart from Statista shows, Ukip supporters are the most pessimistic about young people having a higher quality of life than their predecessors.
