Macaulay Culkin went to the AMAs and the internet responded with memes

Macaulay Culkin went to the American Music Awards.

The actor-turned-pizza-band-enthusiast seemed really happy to be there.

Culkin, who doesn’t tend to do public appearances, showed up at the awards show where he handed over the Favourite Male Artist Award to Post Malone.

The 38-year-old former child star got people so excited with his attendance, they took to social media to give him the meme treatment.

The Home Alone throwback excitement was real.

Culkin is part of a band called The Pizza Underground, which mainly parodies songs by the Velvet Underground, using pizza-inspired lyrics.

The actor has made no secret of his history with substance abuse, brought on in part by the abuse he says he experienced from his father Kit.

Fans were happy to see him looking healthy and beaming at the AMAs, with one writing: “Great to see Macaulay Culkin again. ( Yes, he was on Joe Rogan's show as well.) Macaulay is a very bright guy, wishing all the best for him.”

“OK, but can we just appreciate Macaulay Culkin’s glow up. Like it makes me so legitimately happy that he’s doing well again,” another fan gushed.
