The Royals looks awful and quite brilliant in equal measure

Faux British accents, narcissistic characters and a seemingly awful plot. The Royals is a brand news series from US network E Online! set to start in March.

A trailer broadcast over the weekend offers us a glimpse of what is to come in the channel's drama about a "fictional British monarchy" in London.

It includes lines like "Does the Queen know?" / "The Queen knows everything," the Queen (Liz Hurley) having the acronym "FML" explained to her as she sees her unruly offspring causing right royal havoc, sword fights, flamethrowers, Joan Collins playing the Queen Mother and a republican king called Simon.

It looks awful and terribly-brilliant in equal measure and a part of us can't wait for it to start...
