A recent YouGov survey that looked at pessimism levels among Americans and British people found that the younger you are, the more you tend to believe that human nature is self-serving and uncooperative.

Two demographic groups in Britain scored the highest for pessimism: young people between the age of 18-24 and Ukip voters.
