Caramel is the sexiest colour, according to a highly scientific(!) survey conducted by Travelodge, which claims couples with brown coloured walls have the most sex, Her.ie reports.

Two thousand couples were asked about the frequency of their sexual encounters, as well as the colour of their bedrooms, and the study found that couples with 'caramel' coloured walls were sexually active three times a week.

Apparently, caramel-brown tricks the brain into thinking about chocolate, which serves as a form of aphrodisiac.

In contrast red, which has long been associated with passion and lust, scored the lowest, and couples with walls of this colour had sex only once a week.

Blue coloured walls provide the best sleep, whereas purple walled-sleepers suffer the most from insomnia.

Grey walls indicated a propensity to shop online, which may explain all those overdrawn bank accounts...
