A map showing where the majority of Americans live will blow your mind.

The map of the United States shows blue squares in counties that collectively represent where half of Americans live.

There are a surprisingly small number of blue squares, mainly situated on the east and west coasts and in major cities.

The map was designed by Business Insiderand based on census data. Using that data, it shows that half of the US population is clustered in just 146 counties out of over 3000.
