Life isn’t easy. There’s no instruction manual that tells us how to get through the day – we just have to guess, or copy others. But according to this video – there’s a lot we’ve got wrong.
Matthew Santoro has made a video that explains what we do wrong every day – and it might just blow your mind.
1. Holding a drink
When drinking anything in a wine glass or bottle, we tend to hold the body of the drink. But Santoro breaks it to us that our hands conduct heat, and doing this affects the temperature of the drink. Instead, we should hold beer at the bottle’s neck, and wine at the stem of the glass.
2. Eating bananas
We open bananas from the stem. But monkeys pinch the other end of the banana, make a quarter turn and peel.
Santoro says this gives a more even peel, and is easier.
3. Brushing your teeth
We should be brushing our teeth softly, and for around two minutes every time. And despite what you may have been told – brushing your teeth right before or after a meal is a bad idea.
4. Cooling drinks
You might just pop a bottle in the fridge or freezer to cool it down on a hot day. But the best thing to do is wrap it in tissue first.
5. Wearing headphones
If your headphones keep falling out of your ear, it might be because you’re not wearing them correctly. Try looping them around the top of your earlobe, like this:
Microwaves are designed to heat food evenly, but they can’t do that if the food is piled up. Try spreading the food around the rim of the plate, like this:
Did you know that the hole in the end of pan lids is actually to hold your spoon?
The best position to sleep is on your back – but if you sleep on your side, keep a cushion in between your legs to keep your spine aligned.
9. Tying knots
Don’t pinch the knot, take the end and twist. Then push the twisted part towards the knot.
Sitting on the toilet seat isn’t “ideal,” Santoro says, and we should be squatting. Get your colon in the right position by placing your feet on a stool (no pun intended, there) placed in front of you.
