It seems that Theresa May can’t get anything right these days.

This week, in a break from the never-ending Brexit nightmare, the prime minister lit Downing Street green to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.

This might seem fairly uncontroversial, but May’s government have presided over funding cuts to mental health since she arrived in Downing Street in 2016.

In fact, current mental health budgets have been slashed by millions since the conservatives came to power. Not only this, but government austerity in other areas, such as welfare, has also been found to have negatively impacted people’s mental health.

Of course, Twitter wasted no time in pointing out this fact.

Ouch.
