Woman with the world’s longest nails gets a extreme manicure

The woman with the world’s longest nails has had the manicure to end all manicures.

Ayanna Williams from Houston earned the Guinness World Record in 2017, measuring nearly 19 feet long. A lick of colour took two bottles of nail varnish and 20 hours.

Prior to getting them cut at the weekend, one final measurement said they 24 ft, 0.7 in, or four bottles of nail varnish applied over a few days.

A Fort Worth dermatologist was brought in to cut them, using an electric tool, her first clipping for nearly 30 years, last getting them sheared in the early 1990s.

“With or without my nails, I will still be the queen,” William said, according to reporting from Guinness. “My nails don’t make me, I make my nails!”

At the moment, she intends to regrow her nails a relatively more workable six inches, according to Ripley’s Believe it or Not!, which plans to showcase her nail clippings in Orlando at their museum.

As you could imagine, Williams’ long nails hindered her from doing some household chores, like washing the dishes or changing bedding. Her next plan is to help the next nail world record happen.

Lee Redmond holds the record for the longest nail ever recorded, which she started growing in 1979, hitting 28 feet. However, they broke in a car accident in 2009, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
