Arron Banks, founder of the Leave.EU campaign and a major Ukip donor, has revealed that he and Nigel Farage went "skinny-dipping" ahead of the party's annual conference in Bournemouth this week.
Speaking on the BBC Radio 4's Any Questions, Banks said:
I can tell you [Farage]'s not coming back. I can tell you he's demob happy because we had dinner last night, we had a few drinks. It was late at night and we went skinny dipping of Bournemouth Pier. If ever a man is about to leave British politics...
Â
According to the BBC's Chris Mason, Labour's Angela Eagle then interjected...
Oh, what a terrible image...
Â
But Banks continued:
Nigel actually said to me: 'Let's go for a paddle.' I said: 'Come on, man up, let's just go for a swim and strip down.'
Â
To which Eagle responded:
There should be a law against it.
Â
And it turns out she's not the only one wishing there were some sort of legal consequences for the incident:
I'm suing the @BBC for the emotional trauma of hearing about @Nigel_Farage going skinny dipping @BBCAnyQuestions #bbcaq— President of Wakanda (@President of Wakanda) 1474055622
People are quite angry with the BBC for allowing such awful imagery to be broadcast:
Why is there a whole item on this?!? 😧— Katie Faulkner (@Katie Faulkner) 1474094442
But this is the reality of post-Brexit Britain...
Nigel Farage skinny dipping in the sea? Surely there's an EU Regulation that prohibits that— Keith Burge (@Keith Burge) 1474092707
It's probably ruined a few weekends...
