It’s been over 30 years since the release of one of the most-loved Christmas classics, Home Alone – and this year, fans are in for a treat. A brand new Home Alone reboot is coming to Disney Plus this Winter, and they’ve announced the official release date!
On Thursday, the streaming service took to Twitter to announce that Home Sweet Home Alone will be hitting screens – in plenty of time for Christmas.
Better yet, the new film will be the first in a reboot of the franchise.

While Macaulay Culkin will not be starring in the sixth title of the series, the new project boasts an incredible lineup, including Archie Yates – who plays a mischievous boy who gets left behind as his family travels to Japan. Other star-studded cast members include Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Aisling Bea, Kenan Thompson, Tim Simons, Aly Maki, and many more.
First announced back in 2019, Saturday Night Live writers Streeter Seidell and Mikey Day have worked up Home Sweet Home Alone’s storyline– which, of course, is based on John Hughes’ original screenplay of the first movie.
Let the countdown commence.
Home Sweet Home Alone will be available to stream from November 12.
