How Turkish women had the last laugh

Hundreds of Turkish women posted pictures of themselves laughing on social media to protest comments made by Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc, who had urged women not to laugh in public to "protect our moral values".

Using the hashtag #kahkaha, which means laughter in Turkish, they posed for pictures in cars, in the street and outside shops. All the images had one thing in common: they featured women laughing in public.
