Paul Rudd hilariously pretends to be a millennial to make a very important point

Is there anything that Paul Rudd can’t do? The jury is still deciding but for now let’s marvel at the actor becoming a millennial at the age of 51.

All in the name of getting younger people to wear mask, Rudd filmed a hilarious PSA dressed as “millennial”, although we think he looks more like a middle-aged teenager, if that's even possible...

Poking fun at himself Rudd played the part well and we can only assume he was picked because everyone knows he is one of the youngest looking men in their 50s.

The video was shared by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and sees Rudd using words like "bae", “fam”, “real talk”, “vibe” and “no cap” pretty much in completely the wrong context.

At one point we did wonder if he was targeting the much younger Gen Z, because lest we forget millennials are pushing 40 right now.

Wearing a Tyler The Creator hoodie and a snapback, holding a skateboard, and a boombox from the 90s, he appeared in front of what appears to be an over the top YouTube synthwave compilation backdrop.

He starts off by saying, “Paul Rudd here, actor and certified young person”.

Addressing the viewer, he added:

A few days ago I was talking on the iPhone with my homie Govenor Cuomo, and he's just going off about how us millennials need to wear masks, because, get this, apparently a lot of Covid is transmitted by us millennials.

So Cuomo asked me, 'Paul, you gotta help. What are you? 26?' And I didn't correct him.

He even pretends to ring “bae” Billie Eilish who apparently told him over the phone that she was wearing a face mask.

Rudd carried on and said:

So fam, let's real talk. Masks? They're totally beast. So slide that into your DMs and Twitch it.

Vibe check: Yes, queens like ourselves, we wanna go to bars, we want to drink, hook up, do our TikToks, I get it.

I'm not gonna preach at you like some celebrity. This is a convo, where I talk, and you shut up and wear your mask.

"It's not hard! People are dying... and it's preventable," Rudd ends the video with, eventually dropping the act to seriously say: "Just wear a mask, I shouldn't have to make it fun. It's science! It's science!"

The clip has since gone viral on Twitter, with viewers calling Rudd a “hero”, “a national treasure” and “the best man to ever exist” for his efforts.

We have no choice but to stan.
