It is never OK to touch somebody inappropriately without their consent.
This isn't a message which shouldn't need repeating, yet a seemingly endless stream of incidents proves otherwise.
Just weeks ago, a reporter in Mexico hit a football fan with her microphone live on-air. Explaining the situation in a Twitter thread, she wrote that he had rubbed himself against her but she had thought it was simply a case of over-excitement. She then describes him as "emboldened" by her lack of reaction, so he proceeded to "put his hand between [her] buttocks twice more". So she rightfully chose to defend herself.
Now, a viral video of Indonesian singer and DJ Gebby Vesta is re-circulating online.
Filmed late last year, the clip shows the star kicking a man in the face after he tries to place his hand between her thighs. The video also appears to show another man make a similar attempt to grab her.
Sharing the post online, she wrote a caption which loosely translates to:
Although I kicked him in the head, my heart was still not satisfied.
Vesta has also explained in the past that wearing revealing clothing is essentially a part of her job description, although it's a well-known fact that clothing choice is no justification for sexual harassment.
Anyone is free to dress as they choose - skimpy outfits do not equal consent.
