Stop everything, there's a nine-year-old genius in south London

When an eloquent nine-year-old schoolboy from south London rang LBC this morning to challenge Nick Clegg about his policy for universal free school meals we were suspicious. Particularly as he used the phrase "percentage point indicators".

We weren't the only ones dubious that Rohan (who you can hear in the above video) was a child and not, say, a middle-aged woman. As LBC presenter Nick Ferrari said after Rohan hung up, “Ed Miliband does those voices well, doesn’t he?”.

Meanwhile, this was Clegg's face during the call.

But we were all so very wrong. A spokesperson for LBC told i100:

The LBC production team spoke to the boy and his mum, and we were confident the caller was genuine. Since the show, we’ve spoken to Rohan's headteacher who confirmed he made the call from school in the presence of a teacher, and we’re completely satisfied he has a genuine interest in the issue.

We think we'll be hearing more from Rohan in the coming years....
