Bethany Gambardella-Greenway is documenting her battle with skin cancer, and it’s a stark warning to every person who forget to apply sun-screen.
Gambardella-Greenway first noticed a dark spot on her skin in 2015, but a doctor told her it was nothing.
It wasn’t until 18 months later, when she had a biopsy on a painful mole, that she discovered she had an aggressive form of skin cancer called desmoplastic melanoma.
Gambardella-Greenway has since had surgery to remove the mole, and replace it with a skin graft from her thigh.
She's also had radiation treatment:
She has now lost the muscle on the left side of her face, as well as her left eyebrow - and the process has made her lose 40 pounds.
Gambardella-Greenway has been documenting every step of her journey, even the more challenging days.
She's raising money for additional treatments, skin grafts and other surgeries using the GofFundMe website. You can read all about her journey and donate right here.
