Donald Trump might be getting his news from Reddit

As news stories go, the leader of the free world digging out a five month old tweet from a comedian - who he's publicly feuded with - is certainly one of the stranger ones.

Last night, that's what happened.

Donald Trump retweeted a Rosie O'Donnell tweet from December saying "FIRE COMEY" adding " We finally agree on something Rosie". (In case you missed it, Donald Trump fired FBI director James Comey on Tuesday).

It's not Donald Trump's worst insult (even if he's missed the point slightly), but it raises the question... How exactly did the President - a man who should be quite busy - find the tweet?

Has he had the tweet saved since Christmas, anxiously waiting in anticipation for the best moment for the burn? Was he spending Thursday afternoon trolling through the comedian's old tweets? Has he learned how to use twitter advanced search?

Rosie O'Donnell is the woman he once called "a fat pig," and said he'd have to be paid "a trillion dollars" to "make out with".

Or maybe, it's none of the above, and actually The Donald reads the infamous The_Donald subreddit.

r/The_Donald is a pro-Donald Trump subreddit where O’Donnell’s tweet was posted shortly before the president tweeted.

The correlation was spotted by BuzzFeed's Brandon Wall, who tweeted:

But of course, it may have been White House social media director Dan Scavino who found it too.

New York Magazine's Select All section was quick to point out that this isn't the first Reddit cross over that's taken place since Trump took office.

They report that in March, Trump tweeted a picture of Chuck Schumer and Vladimir Putin - which originated on Reddit.
