This is what space sounds like

This is what space sounds like

In space no one can hear your Nasa sample...

But at least Nasa has taken some of the most famous audio clips from its archive and posted them on Soundcloud, from John F Kennedy's "we choose to go to the Moon" speech to the plaintive beeps of Sputnik, and from the sound of light curving in space to, of course, Neil Armstrong's immortal line on the Moon.

You can have a listen to all 62 clips here, and if you're interested in sampling them you can read Nasa's copyright disclaimer here.

One of our favourites is interstellar plasma sounds, which already sounds like a trip hop dance collective.
