Piers Morgan wasn't happy about losing at the NTAs and people thought it was hilarious

The Oxford English dictionary defined the German word 'schadenfreude' as: 'Pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune.'

Never has this felt more appropriate than on Tuesday night, when Piers Morgan lost out on 'Best Daytime Show' at the National Television Awards.

The presenter and journalist was hoping that he and his Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid would win the gong, but they were pipped to the post by This Morning.

Always willing to play the pantomime villain, Morgan pulled a face that could best be described as 'disgruntled' and people found an incredible amount of joy in his loss.

Even ITV found it funny.

Morgan obviously found some levity in the situation, but only because his colleague Andi Peters found the whole thing so hilarious.

He then went very en vogue and demanded a 'second vote' because 'the British public didn't know what they were doing when they voted'.

However, Morgan did later meet Gemma Collins, so did he really lose?
