Barack Obama delivered a rare address from the Oval Office last night on the terror threat facing the US.
The US president called for gun reform in the wake of the San Bernardino shootings, but after one of the killers seemingly declared allegiance with Isis he urged Americans not to play into the hands of extremists by resorting to fear and divisiveness.
He said:
Muslim Americans are our friends and our neighbours, our coworkers, our sports heroes. And yes, they are our men and women in uniform who are willing to die in defence of our country. We have to remember that.
At least one person with a short memory is apparently Donald Trump, who implored the president to name these Muslim sports heroes.
We don't know how else to tell you this, Donald, but...
Oops.
