We all know Twitter can be a very politically charged place – but it’s nothing that J K Rowling can’t handle.

This week has been a particularly hectic one in the United States. The Republican party's attempts to repeal and replace Obamacare were struck down, protecting the healthcare of thousands of Americans, the White House's new communications director went on a foul-mouthed rant against other senior aides, and Donald Trump banned trans people from serving in the US military.

The Commander in Chief did this via a series of tweets sent out on Wednesday, where he claimed that his main reason for the ban was the "tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender [people] in the military would entail".

The move was quickly condemned by LGBT rights activists and a number of openly trans military personnel.

General Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, later release a statement saying:

There will be no modifications to the current policy until the President's direction has been received by the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary has issued implementation guidance."

Adding:

In the meantime, we will continue to treat all of our personnel with respect.

Despite all of this, many of Trump's supporters celebrated the decision as a big win, including the controversial political commentator Tomi Lahren.

Lahren tweeted:

Pres Trump dedicated to putting radical Muslims in graves whereas Pres Obama was dedicated to putting men in the ladies room.

And.

The military is not about the wants of the individual, it's about the mission. Taxpayers should not be on the hook for hormone treatment!!

And.

Libs, wanna put up an actual argument as to why transgenders should serve? “It's the nice thing to do” or “you're mean” doesn't cut it.

Fortunately, JK Rowling is continuing to preserve her title as Twitter supreme, and she had the perfect response to Lahren.

Truly, whom amongst us can forget Trump ordering the killing of bin Laden? Or Obama bragging about barging in on naked beauty contestants?

Rowling is referring to an interview in 2005 when Trump told radio host Howard Stern that he’d go backstage during a Miss USA or Miss Universe pageant when the contestants were naked and that he’d “sort of get away with things like that”.

Mr Trump is quoted as saying in the interview:

You know they’re standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women. And so I sort of get away with things like that.

In October 2016 Tasha Dixon, who competed in a Miss USA pageant when she was 18, told CBS:

Our first introduction to him [Trump] was when we were at the dress rehearsal and half naked changing into our bikinis.

He just came strolling right in. There was no second to put a robe on or any sort of clothing or anything. Some girls were topless. Other girls were naked.
