A charity recently asked if anyone could offer one of its volunteers a lift, and the response will warm your heart.

A Lending Hand is a Dublin-based group that helps struggling families, the elderly and those in emergency accommodation.

They posted on Facebook if anyone could offer a lift to one of their volunteers, Brian.

Brian who is retired and lives on his pension, cooks over 50 individual “4 in 1 chicken, curry, rice and chips” every Monday for the homeless.

Unfortunately last Monday Brian was stuck for a lift.

A Lending Hand put the word out on Facebook and within a few hours a local taxi company had stepped up to support.

It wasn't just the cabbies who offered help though, there were floods of offers of transportation, money for ingrediants and kind words for Brian from people who wanted to help.

You can read some of the lovely comments on Brian's good deeds right here.
