A truck driver found himself stranded on a highway in Winnipeg during a snow storm this week. A tough and potentially dangerous ordeal for anyone to experience. But fortunately a superhero came to his rescue.
A courageous woman on horseback braved the storms and helped him out.
18-year-old Eileen Eagle Bears saw Peter Douglas on the highway camera, which he fortunately broke down right in front of.
The poor driver ended up being stuck in freezing conditions over night.
So, to help him out, Eileen rode four kilometres with a thermos full of coffee, on her pony Mr Smudge. During a snow storm.
It's worth pointing out this was was on the eve of International Women's Day, too.
She returned to the truck later with water and a thermos full of stew and potatoes.
Her mum posted this to Facebook:
She wrote under the photo:
She rode bareback on top of his winter blanket so he wouldn't get too cold...lol. Thoughtful to the core. She asked is she could go so I said sure... Didn't think she would make it the whole way... And coffee was a surprise to me
