The internet has fallen in love with this NSFW story about ignorance, microaggression and sweet, sweet comeuppance

Twitter has fallen in love with a story about mispronounced names, casual racism and sweet come-uppance.

The tale, spun by @BlackMajiik over the course of 22 tweets, has captured hearts for the protagonists' flawless vengeance upon an ignorant and rude colleague.

The lesson here is: Learn your colleagues' names.

Here goes:

Torra was nervous because she'd just been promoted and had moved to sit with the new supervisor and team. She chose a seat, which happened to be next to a man described as the 'Mayonnaise Monster'.

He comes over and introduces himself as 'Evan' and asks her name, which is actually on her desk.

She sounds it out for him again, to which he replies:

Whatever, I won't even try. All those names sound the same anyway!

He shrugs and replies:

You know, those hood black girl names. They all sound the same so I refuse to try.

He then laughs, which infuriates Torra. She's about to lose her cool, but then comes up with an appropriate riposte.

She spends the next six months referring to him as Jake, Billy or Josh, whatever typically white name she can think of in person and in e-mails. Others start joining in and Evan can't really stand it anymore. He comes to Torra's desk and asks to speak to her.

She says:

Sure Sam, what can I do for you?

The responses to this Homeric epic were predictable:

With some less than positive... One suggested:

Just wear a tag with the phonetic spelling of your name. You can even include the meaning if you like

Which turned out to be a bit of an own goal:

If you're confused about a pronunciation, just ask politely. It's not hard to get names right, people.
