Melissa McCracken has synesthesia, which means her senses work slightly differently. In her case, she experiences music and letters as colour - so she became an artist.
Speaking to i100.co.uk, McCracken said her favourite piece is her interpretation of Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix (below).
I grew up listening to a lot of Jimi Hendrix and it is one of my earliest memories of "seeing" a song.
I'd have to say that music, colour, and passion are biggest inspirations. Although I see colours in every song, it's the ones that you can tell that the artist put his heart and soul into that produce the best images.
Here are more of her works based on songs with links to the songs in the title case you want to hear them:
Smashing Pumpkins – Tonight, Tonight
Radiohead – Karma Police
David Bowie – Life On Mars?
Stevie Wonder - Seems So Long
Nine Inch Nails - All The Love In The World
Glass Animals - Flip
