These are JK Rowling's Harry Potter regrets

The 2nd of May 2015 is not just the date the second royal baby was born - it also marks the 17th anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts.

For the uninitiated, the Battle of Hogwarts was the final fight against Voldermort in which Harry Potter triumphed, thus winning the Second Wizarding War. To mark it, JK Rowling has apologised for killing off Fred Weasley.

Since the Potter series ended Rowling has said she regretted killing Florean Fortescue, a minor character who owned an ice cream shop in Diagon Alley. Writing on Pottermore she admitted he was "kidnapped and killed for no good reason".

He is not the first wizard whom Voldemort murdered because he knew too much (or too little), but he is the only one I feel guilty about, because it was all my fault.

Rowling also suggested in an interview last year that Hermione and Harry may have been better off getting together than Hermione and Ron, saying their relationship was "a form of wish fulfillment". “That’s how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.”
